This is a quick post to share some helpful updating information from the President. We think only those who responded to the Transparency Review call for evidence will have received this email update. So for those who don’t already know, the President has now said as follows:

Sir Andrew McFarlane, President of the Family Division, is grateful to all those who have contributed to the Transparency Review call for evidence, which closed on Monday 11th May.   99 contributions from individuals and agencies drawn from across the world of family justice have been received and will now be considered.   Although somewhat delayed by COVID 19 crisis,  The President and the panel were able to meet yesterday and are very grateful to all those who have taken part in the exercise. Work will now commence on reviewing each submission before holding oral sessions in June and July.   The President expects to be in a position to present a Final Report including recommendations and any draft guidance in the summer. [our emphasis]

The Transparency Project’s own detailed response to the Review, and the responses of others we’ve seen so far can be read in this earlier post:

We have a small favour to ask!

The Transparency Project is a registered charity in England & Wales run largely by volunteers who also have full-time jobs. We’re working hard to secure extra funding so that we can keep making family justice clearer for all who use the court and work within it.

We’d be really grateful if you were able to help us by making a small one-off (or regular!) donation through our Just Giving page

Thanks for reading!
